The 2017 Los Angeles International Spirits Competition received 392 Spirits entries from 146 producers. For the past 3 years we have made Mixers its own competition being that we receive so many entries in this non-alcoholic product category. There were a total of 2 Best of Show Awards given this year, 1 Best of Show was awarded in the Spirits Competition and 1 Best of Show in the Mixers Competition, 65 Best of Category Awards, 10 Best of Division Awards, 221 Gold Medal Awards, 123 Silver Medal Awards, and 36 Bronze Medal Awards. This year’s competition received spirits from 31 different countries, Australia, Barbados, Canada, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Scotland, South Africa, Sweden, UK, Ukraine, USA, Vietnam, Virgin Islands. We had 20 judges from all over the United States.

ABOUT THE LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS COMPETITION
For more than seven decades the Los Angeles International Wine Competition has bestowed gold medals to the best wines from around the globe. With the evolution of the competition, and a resurgence in cocktails and mixology, it was inevitable that distilled beverages be included in the judging. In 2007, the inaugural spirits portion of the newly renamed Los Angeles International Spirits Competition was opened to Blue Agave Tequilas. The event was such a success, the competition was opened to all spirits and mixers in 2010.
